Bio[]
Eric Christian Olsen is an American actor who was born May 31, 1977 in Eugene, Oregon. The son of Jeanne and Paul V. Olsen, he was raised in Bettendorf, Iowa where he attended Bettendorf Middle and High School. He began to seriously consider acting as a career after graduation when he landed a commercial role in a television spot for Whitey's Ice Cream Parlor. He began performing in local theatre, studying improv with and later joining the cast of ComedySportz Quad Cities the cast. In 1999, Olsen went to California and scored his first guest role on the ABC-TV series "High Incident". He later got critical acclaim with the portrayal of a dying burn victim on NBC's "ER". Several more TV roles followed before he landed featured roles on the big screen starting with "Pearl Harbor" and "Not Another Teen Movie". His work in television also continued as he got a regular starring role on the short lived Fox comedy drama "Get Real". After the show was cancelled, he kept active in both TV and film. Along with several parts on TV movies , he joined the casts of both "Tru Calling" and "The Loop". He also appeared on the silver screen in a succession of comedy films including "Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd", "Beerfest", and "Fired Up!" . In 2009 he played the role of "Vaughn Miller" on "Community" which he reprised four times throughout the shows first year. Olsen married actress Sarah Wright on June 23, 2012. In April 2013, they announced they are expecting a baby boy. He currently portrays Detective Marty Deeks on the CBS television series NCIS: Los Angeles.
