Pillar of Garbage CD
Natalie is Freezing CD.
In her sixth year at Greendale, Britta learned her parents were colluding with her friends to support her financially. Unwilling to accept their help, she drove over to their house as the "Natalie Is Freezing" song "Pillar of Garbage" played on her car radio. Sometime later, she was commiserating with Elroy Patashnik in his RV and was surprised to learn he was a fan of "Natalie is Freezing" too. She asked him to play the song "Pillar of Garbage" and began singing along. Elroy wasn't able to take her off key performance and quickly turned his CD player off. Jeff later booked the band to play at the school's alumni dance where they performed their signature song. It was first heard in the Season Six episode "Lawnmower Maintenance and Postnatal Care".

The song and lyrics[]

Original song[]

Lyrics:

Moonlight,
Bleeding glass and healing needles,
Amputated hearts are never whole.

Too bright
Dreaming as the screaming seagulls
Feed on parts of me I keep below.

Oh, oh, oh Orion
Take off your belt and let me go to
where you've been

I'm flying overhead and buffalo are
falling dead inside...

Full Version[]

Lyrics:

Moonlight,
Bleeding glass and healing needles,
Amputated hearts are never whole.

Too bright
Dreaming as the screaming seagulls
Feed on parts of me I keep below.

Oh, oh, oh Orion
Take off your belt and let me go to
where you've been

I'm flying overhead and buffalo are
falling dead inside
Eternity
It was you and me
 how
Sweet it'd be
My wandering star

Trivia[]

Community writer Alex Rubens posted lyrics of the song on his twitter account. Additional lyrics not heard on the show include:

"Eternity,
it was you and me how
Sweet it'd be
My wandering star
Black night
counting sheep and falling comets
drowning in a sea of faded dreams
Star bright
Cosmic dust and crying crystals
memories of your face won't fade away"

Actress Gillian Jacobs posted a behind the scenes photo of the video shoot for the song on her Instagram account.
