Character history[]
In the study group's third year at Greendale, Troy and Abed had a major disagreement which escalated into an all out war. The dispute was over Abed building a pillow fort and Troy pursuing a Guinness Book of World Record feat of creating the largest blanket fort. Sides were chosen, and Pierce ended up joining Abed and his Pillowtown followers. The conflict became an all out war between the two factions and Pierce made a poor showing at "The Battle of Big Bulletin Board". He attempted to redeem himself by designing a U.M.D. and awed Abed with its potential destructive power. Abed gave the go ahead for its creation after Pierce assured him it could actually be built. However, he hoped that they would never have to use the Pillow Man option.

Unfortunately, word of the weapon got out, and Troy formed an alliance to shift the balance of power back in his favor. He enlisted the services of campus security chief Ben Chang and his security force known as the Changlourious Basterds. Abed listened to his war adviser Leonard and reluctantly unleashed Pierce's doomsday weapon. Donning a suit of armor made of pillows, Pierce went off to take down Chang's prepubescent army. He found them in the library ruthlessly attacking a defenseless Pillow Town resident. Equipped with pillows duct taped to each hand, Pierce mercilessly battered away at his opponents. Surprised by their new foe, the security force made a hasty retreat. Pierce revelled in his victory, but it ended up being short-lived.

At the final battle between Pillow Town and Blanketsburg in the cafeteria, the Changlourious Basterds got their revenge. Amidst the crowded sea of humanity fighting each other, Pillow Man lost his footing and fell. The Changlourious Basterds took advantage and immediately pounced on their hated rival. The Chang security force stopped pummelling Pierce only after Dean Pelton brought an end to the conflict. He announced that neither Pillow Town nor Blanketsburg will be in the "Guinness Book of World Records" due to firing of the representative who proposed their inclusion. With the conflict over, Pillow Man glumly left the battlefield, a now unneeded weapon without a purpose. Pillow Man has not been seen since, but the memory of his terrifying power will live on in the survivors of the Pillows and Blankets war ("Pillows and Blankets").
